Hiking
The trails in the gorge are beautiful. They range in
difficulty from easy to vigorous and in length from really short
to really long. If you click on the picture of the wooded
path, it'll take you to a website with trail descriptions.
For those of you who prefer to see a view without arduous walking,
Natural
Bridge offers a chairlift ride to the top of this beautiful
arch.
Climbing Red River Gorge is world famous for rock
climbing. Whether you like to boulder, rappel or attempt a
5.13, the gorge can accommodate. If you are experienced bring
your own gear and have at it. Click on the picture to the
right for a link to a website with info about the various climbs
in the gorge. If you are not experienced check out ViaFerrata.
They offer a permanently installed course as easy as climbing a
ladder. For a fee they'll give you all the equipment and
some pointers. If you'd prefer, Ken and his friends all
climb and they'd be happy to take you and teach you the
ropes. Just drop us a line before June 1!
Canoeing Red River Gorge and the surrounding areas offer everything
from serene lakes to white water. Red
River Outdoors is the place to contact for canoe rental.
Once again, we suggest you reserve early as June is a popular time
in the gorge.
Yoga Ken has consented to teaching a class to anyone interested on
Saturday June 1st. If you have one bring a mat, if not,
don't worry about it. Just wear loose clothes and an open
mind!
Fishing The Cliffview offers catch and release fishing in many of
their numerous ponds. Just bring your pole and pick up bait
from the store down the road.
